Rajashree Dutta Choudhury is a Visual Artist, Writer, Researcher. In her several years of research and teaching experience Rajashree has involvement as a visual artist in Santiniketan Society of Visual art & Design (SSVAD ), Santiniketan under the guidance of eminent internationally known artist Jogen Chowdhury where she also got the opportunity to shared her creative process with the legend artists of art world – K G Subramanyan, Anjolie Ela Menon, Arpana Caur, Himmat Shah, K S Radhakrishnan, Manu Parekh, Madhvi Parekh, Sunil Das, Jayasri Burman, Jayashree Chakravarty, Subrata Gangapadhyay, Shuvaprasanna, Sipra Bhattacharjee, Paresh Maity, Chandra Bhattacharjee, Prabhakar Kolte, Ganesh Haloi, Lalu Prasad Shaw, K Laxma Gaud, Sakti Burman and S G Vasudev. Rajashree’s areas of expertise are in modern art, postmodern art, history of art and architecture, aesthetics, traditional art and cultural studies/practices. Rajashree has contributed extensively in several international and national level art exhibitions, artists-in-residency programmes, workshops and artists’ camps in India including India Art fair 2022, prestigious Jehangir Art Gallery (2023), The Bombay Art Society (2023), Lalit Kala Akademi and Ministry of Culture initiatives. Rajashree has contributed her artworks for many international and national level publications and also featured in prominent art magazines like Art&Deal and others. Rajashree has presented her research papers in several international, national level seminars and conferences. Rajashree’s artworks are also in the collections of academic institutes, centres of art in India & abroad. Regarding her art practice many articles on Rajashree also has been published in various art publications. Rajashree has membership with art societies, art organisations, foundations. Rajashree’s contribution also includes invited as jury member in various Visual Arts/painting competitions and invited as external examiner, jury member of Practical examination/jury evaluation for Visual Arts/Fine Arts Department in University level. Rajashree; at present working as Assistant Professor in Department of Visual Arts, Graphic Era Hill University, Dehradun. Rajashree has guided many students through various projects to shape their career prominently towards higher education of visual arts/fine arts and also nurturing visual art talents through both theory & praxis.
