• Dr. Dhar is the recipient of Nemichandji-Suhas Mate Memorial Award for securing first class first position marks in final examination of Master of Visual Arts, Assam University, Silchar (A Central University established by an Act of Parliament). XIV Convocation, Assam University, Silchar (2014).
  Dr. Dhar is the recipient of national award entitled “Best Award” Freedom Fighter Sri Bolla Veera Reddy Award in 82nd All India Annual Exhibition 2023. Organised by Hyderabad Art Society (2023).
• Dr. Dhar is the recipient of Bacs Artist Award 2015 Lt. Rukmini Kanta Ghosh Memorial Gold Medal for securing 1st position in National Level Painting Competition. Organised by Barak Art Fair, Silchar (2015).
• Dr. Dhar is the recipient of Bacs Artist Award 2017 Gold Medal for securing 1st position in National Level Painting Competition. Organised by Barak Art Fair, Silchar (2017) .
• Anirban Dhar recognised as outstanding contribution to research at Graphic Era Hill University for the year 2019-2020, GEHU, Dehradun (2021).
• Dr. Dhar received honour for remarkable contribution in the field of art in Navrang Flo Art Fest in association with Government of Punjab an initiative to celebrate the achievements of Artists and Architects. The felicitation received from Padma Bhusan Indian painter , sculptor, muralist Jatin Das and Indian prominent photographer Raghu Rai. Organised by FICCI FLO Amritsar Shikha Sareen Chairperson 2022-23. Chief guest was Dr. Inderbir Singh Nijjar, Local Government Parliament Affairs, Conservation of Land and Water, Administrative Reforms Minister. Date: December 16, 2022.
• Dr. Dhar received Merit Award in “International Painting Competition 2022” on the occasion World Art Day 2022. Organised by Department of Fine Arts, Chitkara Design School, Chitkara University, Punjab in collaboration with Bindaas Artist Group, New Delhi, India (2022).
