Ms. Shristha Bhandari is an accomplished academic gold medalist, specializing in B.Design (Fashion Design) from Graphic Era Hill University, Dehradun. She skillfully merges her proficiency in education and design to craft ingenious and impactful learning encounters. Over the last five years, she has been passionately engaged in research and design work centred around the utilization of Uttarakhand’s natural fibres. As a conscientious designer, she shoulders a profound obligation to her homeland, diligently striving to champion Uttarakhand’s textile heritage and traditional crafts. She is recognized for her contributions to the book “Handmade for the 21st Century: Safeguarding Traditional Indian Textiles” by UNESCO, receiving accolades from the Craft Revival Trust. Additionally, she authored an article titled “Uttarakhand k Prakritik Reshe” in the magazine “Humari Kheti,” published by UCOST in collaboration with Graphic Era Hill University. Notably, she has recently secured three UK Design Registrations centered on Nettle, the indigenous fiber of Uttarakhand.
