Ms. Garima Ayesha Siddiqui is a Post Graduate in Leather Apparel Design Technology from National Institute of Fashion Technology (under Ministry of Textiles, Govt of India), and a Graduate in B.Sc. Home Science from the prestigious Lady Irwin College, University of Delhi, Garima Siddiqui has been a self-driven and result oriented professional. She has worked for over 16 years in key Merchandising positions in the Fashion industry, having started her journey as an ‘Assistant merchandiser’ in one of the best leather export house in India (Apollo International Ltd, a subsidiary of Apollo Tyres) and climbing up the ladder to become ‘Divisional Merchandising Manager’ managing Merchandising, Production and Quality teams at one of the leading Buying offices of North India (Impulse International Pvt Ltd, Gurugram). Through her in-depth understanding of product, technical processes, costing and efficient merchandising skills, Garima Siddiqui has played a key role in increasing leather exports from India, across garments and accessories. She has worked in challenging export environment, to build profitable business projects with small-mid level exporters, through her managerial and creative inputs, and played a pivotal role in shifting approximately 80% of leather accessory business from China to India in a span of 3-4 years (from year 2007-2011). Garima Siddiqui has responsibly mentored a lot of fresh graduates interning or entering the Fashion industry on the practical and effective ways to manage merchandising roles. She has been an advocate of timely production and deliverance, throughout the export supply chain, to increase profitability in Indian export sector. For her exceptional work in growing and managing leather accessory business with the largest retailer of United Kingdom -Debenhams Retail PLC, Garima Siddiqui has received appreciation from the Senior management in the Retailer’s office as well as her own workplace. Since the last 1 year, she has been imparting her practical knowledge and experience to the undergraduate Fashion Design students at Graphic Era Hill University, Dehradun and preparing them for the industry.
