Nukkad Natak To Celebrate Earth Day | School of Agriculture

Agri-Eco Club of Agricultural Society, School of Agriculture celebrated World Water Day on 22nd March 2023. The celebration started with a poster and photography competition and was followed up by a Nukkad Natak performed by students of B.Sc. (Hons.) Agriculture. A guest lecture was also delivered by Dr. D.V. Singh, Principal Scientist and Head of the Department of Human Resources and Social Sciences, Indian Institute of Soil and Water Conservation, Dehradun. He enlightened the students with his mere experience in the field of water conservation and management. He also threw some light on the improvement of catchment areas for the betterment of rivers and seas.
More than 100 students of B.Sc. (Hons.) Agriculture participated in the competition with great enthusiasm and zeal. The occasion was graced by Hon’ble Vice Chancellor, Graphic Era Hill University, Dehradun Prof. (Dr.) R. Gowri. She enlightened the students with her motivational words and emphasis to take a pledge not to waste water and use it efficiently. Dr. Y.P. Singh, Associate Dean, School of Agriculture enlightened the students with his speech and also gave an insight into the theme of this World Water Day i.e., “Accelerating change”.
The winners and participants were felicitated with trophies and certificates by Guest Speaker Dr. D.V. Singh and Dr. K.K. Joshi, Head Dept. of Environmental Sciences, Graphic Era Hill University, Dehradun. Dr. Pallavi Joshi hosted the award ceremony and thanked Hon’ble Pro-Chancellor Prof. (Dr) J. Kumar and Hon’ble Vice-Chancellor Prof. (Dr.) R. Gowri, and all the faculty members and students for their contribution on making the event successful.
