National Seminar on “Cyber Security: Issues and Challenges” conducted in association with Uttarakhand State Council for Science and Technology (UCOST)

Department of Computer Science & Engineering, Graphic Era Hill University in association with Uttarakhand State Council for Science and Technology (UCOST) organized a National Seminar on “Cyber Security: Issues and Challenges” on Wednesday, 29th November 2023.

The seminar was inaugurated by the chief guest, Director General of Police (DGP) Uttarakhand, Government, Mr. Ashok Kumar, the guest of honor Former Registrar General, High Court of Uttarakhand, Mr. V.K. Maheswari, Prof.(Dr.) Jeetendra Pande, UOU, Uttarakhand and Prof (Dr.) Sanjay Jasola, Vice Chancellor Graphic Era Hill University, Dehradun, Uttarakhand.

Mr. Ashok Kumar (DGP) eloquently expressed his concerns regarding the escalating threat of frauds and cybercrime, emphasized the imperative for collaborative efforts and advanced strategies to safeguard society against these evolving challenges and also focused on the increasing volume of cybercrime and shared various real stories of cybercriminals in the country with reference to his authored book “CYBER ENCOUNTERS”. Mr. V.K. Maheswari (Former Registrar General) discussed the important judicial laws of cybercrime and Information Technology Act 2000 of India. Prof.(Dr.) Sanjay Jasola, Vice Chancellor, enlightened the students about the various challenges of cybersecurity and in the field of information technology. The vote of thanks was given by the convenor and HOD CSE, Mr. Debaysh Bordoli at the end of the program. Master of ceremony of the event was done by Ms. Anshu Sharma. Pro VC Prof. (Dr.) R. Gouri, Registrar Mr. Arvind Dhar, and all faculty members also showed their presence at the event.
