Dr. Raghubeer Singh Bangarihas been working in the two-dimensional (2D) nanomaterials. He had successfully synthesized and characterized Boron Nitride Nanosheets (BNNSs) and further applied the same for water remediation application. He has published many research papers among the top peer reviewed international journals i.e., ACS Applied Material Interfaces, ACS Omega, RSC Soft Matter, Journal of Environmental Chemical Engineering, Molecular Liquids, Colloids and Surfaces A: Physicochemical and Engineering Aspects, etc.
In his research work he had synthesized and characterized a high specific surface area of boron nitride nanosheet (BNNSs) from the bottom-up approach. The synthesized BNNSs has been utilized for the removal of pharmaceuticals and synthetic dyes form contaminated wastewater. The synthesized BNNSs had been further functionalized with magnetic nanoparticles through solvothermal route. The synthesized BNNSs and BNNS-Fe3O4 have been utilized as an adsorbent for the removal of heavy metal i.e., Arsenic (III) and (V) from the contaminated aqueous stream. Further, I have synthesized a polymeric membrane by the incorporation of BNNSs, and it had been utilized for the removal of methylene blue from the aqueous stream.
