A lawyer by profession and a teacher by passion, Ankit Purohit is currently pursuing Ph.D. in Law from the Department of Laws, Panjab University, Chandigarh. He also has a Post-Graduate Diploma in the field of Alternative Dispute Resolution to his credit from the Indian Law Institute, New Delhi. He completed his Master of Laws degree from the Department of Laws, Panjab University, Chandigarh, after obtaining a degree in B.A. LL.B. (Hons.) from Amity Law School, Delhi (Affiliated to Guru Gobind Singh Indraprastha University, Delhi).

He has previously worked as an Asst. Academic Coordinator-Law at Law Pathshala (a vertical of Blackboard Education & Research Foundation, Noida), wherein, he was heading the academic team of online law courses started by the organization. He has also worked as a freelance faculty for legal aptitude in Pratham Test Prep (a vertical of IIFM, New Delhi), a leading institute for law entrance coaching, wherein, he was engaged in teaching and training students aspiring to crack CLAT and other law entrances. As an Assistant Professor in School of Law, Graphic Era Hill University, Dehradun, he was successful in performing the mammoth task of making the proposal and setting the roadmap for introducing the LL.M. programme in the University, which has commenced successfully from the academic year 2021-22. He has been the coordinator for the LL.M. programme since then. He has also been the Board of Studies (BOS) Coordinator in the department, wherein, he performed the hefty task of redesigning the curriculum of the entire 5-year B.A. LL.B. (Hons.) & B.B.A. LL.B. (Hons.) programme in accordance with BCI’s norms as well as in compliance with NAAC’s mandatory requirement of Choice Based Credit System (CBCS). During his tenure at Graphic Era, he has organized national as well as International Faculty Development Programmes, and National-level Conferences and Seminars. He has also been the coordinator for the debate club in the department, organizing national as well as intra-departmental debate competitions. As the coordinator for the placement club in the department, he has organized a plethora of panel discussions and Workshops for the students on career opportunities in the field of law. He has also been entrusted with the additional responsibility of Academic Coordinator and Timetable coordinator in the department. At the University level, he has also been an active member of NAAC (Criteria 4) from the inception of NAAC in the University.

At the academic front, Ankit’s specialization is in Criminal and Security Laws, and his areas of research/interest include Family Law, Law of Torts, Law of Contract and Women related laws. He has been extensively researching on gender issues, gender inequality in law and gender justice. In the field of research, he has to his credit, five research papers published in UGC CARE journals and two research papers published in SCOPUS indexed journals. Besides that, he has participated and presented papers in various National and International Conferences and Seminars. Ankit has been invited to deliver talks on various socio-legal issues. He has also been invited as the resource person in various webinars/seminars and workshops to discuss the career avenues in the field of law. He has also been invited to deliver guest lectures and sessions in schools and coaching institutes for CLAT preparation to share his valuable insights on cracking the various law entrance examinations. He has been supervising Postgraduate and Undergraduate students of law in their research work, primarily in the field of Family Law, Criminal Laws and Women related laws.
