Kisan Gosthi At Village Nayagaon Peliyo, Dehradun | School of Agriculture

School of Agriculture organized a Kisan Gosthi at village Nayagaon Peliyo, Dehradun on June 16th, 2022. It was organized in joint collaboration with Green Pahadi Foundation, an NGO working in the field of agriculture and rural development in Uttarakhand. The purpose of the Kisan Gosthi was to provide a platform for farmer- scientists interaction in order to identify the problems and issues faced by the villagers and simultaneously address the identified problems with suitable solutions. The team of experts was led by Dr.
Y.P. Singh, Associate Dean, School of Agriculture and coordinated by Dr. Deepak Kholiya, Associate Professor, School of Agriculture. The team included experts from different disciplines of agriculture namely, Dr. Vivek Pathak, Associate Professor, Dr. Pallavi Joshi, Dr. Rajneesh Bhardwaj, Dr. Supriya Gupta, Dr. Sukanya Ghosh, Dr. Manpreet Singh, Dr. Neelam Basera and Ms. Pooja Kala, School of Agriculture. The farmers, youth and women from the village along with members of NGO, Green Pahadi Foundation were the participants of the Gosthi. The participants shared experiences of working in SHGs and how it has brought changes in their life. The session ended with words from Dr. Y.P. Singh and Ms. Kalpana, representative, Green Pahadi Foundation who thanked the participants and experts for their active involvement in Kisan Gosthi and wished to hold many more such sessions in future.
