A beacon of innovation in environmental stewardship shone brightly at Graphic Era Hill University as the School of Agriculture, in collaboration with Forest Plus 3.0, USAID, and the Ministry of Environment, Forest, and Climate Change (MoFECC), Government of India, hosted a transformative workshop on “Technological Innovation to Improve Natural Resource Management.” The workshop kicked off with an inspiring welcome by Honourable Vice Chancellor Prof. (Dr.) Sanjay Jasola to the esteemed Dr. Ujjawal Pradhan, Chief of Party Forest Plus 3.0. This event delved deep into pressing environmental management issues and the pivotal role of cutting-edge technology in enhancing natural resource management. Participants were engaged in technical sessions and group activities designed to bolster their proficiency in using Remote Sensing (RS) and Geographic Information Systems (GIS) tools for effective resource management. Led by the dynamic Forest 3.0 team under the guidance of Dr. Sanjeeva Pandey (IFS), the workshop underscored the significance of RS/GIS technology in formulating superior state management policies. This collaborative effort not only enriched the participants’ skill sets but also paved the way for innovative approaches to sustainable environmental management.
