The Debate Society, School of Law, Graphic Era Hill University, Dehradun conducts weekly Group Discussions (GDs) on every Thursday on different topics related to sociol and legal issues. Students of different batches in the department take part in the GD and give their insights making it a fruitful discussion. It is a fun yet intellectual activity which helps the students expand their scope and horizon of knowledge and gives them an interesting experience. The first group discussion was conducted on the topic “Wellbeing of Women and Burden of Unpaid Domestic work”. While the other GDs were done on different topics like “Same Sex Marriage: A cultural drift”, “Global terrorism: a nexus with religion” and “Abortion: A Man’s Perspective”. This continuous series of Group Discussions is a possible due to the hard work of Dr. Shalini Bahuguna Bachheti (Head, SOL, GEHU), Ms. Prabhleen Batra (Faculty Coordinator, Debsoc, SOL, GEHU) and the student body.
