On the occasion of World Honey Bee Day (20th May), an awareness program was organized by the School of Agriculture along with Khadi and Village Industries Commission (KVIC), Dehradun for the agricultural students. The special guest of the event was Shri. Ramnarayan, State Director, Mr. J.S. Malik, Assistant Director, and Shri. D. D. Jamloki Associate Executive, KVIC. The session began with a formal welcoming of the guests with flowers. Mr. Malik talked about the various entrepreneurial ventures in honey bee production sectors. He spoke about the uses and importance of honey bee and the agriculture sector. He informed the students about the PNAGP scheme and the website through which students may enroll in the PNAGP scheme. The guests delivered their knowledge and ideas regarding bee-keeping and its benefits. The programme ended with a formal vote of thanks from Ms. Juhi Kumari, B.Sc. (Hons.) Agriculture (3rd year). To mark the occasion, 100 ml of honey was distributed to all the participants. The programme was coordinated by the Agricultural Society, School of Agriculture.
