  • A travel award was granted by DST (SERB) to attend an international conference and present a paper in “SPIE PHOTONICS EUROPE 2018,” held in Strasbourg, France, between April 22 and April 26.
  • IIT Delhi granted the travel award to attend an international conference and present a paper in OFS-26 (2018), held in Lausanne, Switzerland, from September 22 to September 26, 2018.
  • Research Excellence Travel Award (RETA) was granted by IIT Delhi in 2019 based on published research papers in international journals of repute.

A gold medalist in M. Tech from Aligarh Muslim University, Aligarh, Uttar Pradesh, Dr. Sharma completed her Ph.D. under the joint supervision of Prof. B.D. Gupta and Prof. Anurag Sharma, Department of Physics, Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Delhi, from the Fiber Optic Group (2019). Her thesis was on “Tin oxide nanocomposite-based fiber optic chemical and biosensors utilizing surface plasmon resonance and lossy mode resonance phenomena.” Dr. Sharma has been working in optical fiber-based plasmonic bio/chemical sensors. She also has contributed to the project sponsored by the Department of Science and Technology (DST) India, under Nano India Mission, IIT Delhi as a research associate and designed a sensor for agricultural applications. Dr. Sharma has published eight research papers in various peer-reviewed international journals of repute along with four international conference proceedings. She has appeared at various international conferences to present her research work in India as well as abroad. She was awarded the prestigious research excellence travel award (RETA) by IIT Delhi to present her work on an international platform.
