Dr. Kamal Kant Joshi started career in research in 2003 as JRF (Govind Ballabh Pant National Institute of Himalayan Environment (NIHE) (An Autonomous Institute of Ministry of Environment, Forest & Climate Change, Govt. of India). After being awarded Ph.D. in 2008, he started career in teaching, he has 15 years of teaching experience and published 28 research papers (SCI, SCOPUS indexed) and two Books on Environmental Sciences. He has presented papers in International and National Conferences in India and abroad.
He has received Teacher of the Year award by the state government agency (Uttarakhand Technical University) in 2021. He received a grant from National Science Academic United States (2018) to present a research paper in Kuala Lumpur Malaysia. The state Young Scientist research award received in 2011 by the Uttarakhand Council for Science and Technology, and during research UGC research fellowship was received from Gurukula Kangri University in 2007-2008.

During his teaching career, an online course has been developed for Commonwealth countries under the Commonwealth of Open Learning (CoL). He is Life time member in Society for Indonesian Biodiversity and Life time member of Association of Avian Biology in India. He is guest editor in BMC Zoology Springer Nature Journals. He has completed 2 research projects and the outcomes of the projects have been published in Scientific Journals. Presently, 2 research projects are ongoing funded by state funding agencies (Govt. of Uttarakhand). His research contribution and findings is considered in Uttarakhand state policies.
