Dr. Purushotam Pantola is a seasoned professional with experience in agriculture and rural development. Holding a Ph.D. in agriculture with a focus on horticulture. With an impressive career spanning 30+ years, Dr. Pantola has held key roles in various organizations. Notably, he worked as the Manager, Agribusiness, and Agriculture Expert for the Uttarakhand Decentralized Watershed Development Project from April 2008 to March 2018. In this capacity, he played a pivotal role in the development and management of market-linked farming systems, training project staff, and designing farmer-focused agribusiness training programs. Prior to this, he served as a division-level expert in agriculture and horticulture for PNGO Dwarahat and held roles such as Chief Coordinator in Grameen Evam Krishi Vikas Samiti, Haldwani. His responsibilities included coordinating DASP activities, promoting sustainable agriculture through organic farming, and providing technical guidance to field staff and farmers.
Dr. Pantola’s expertise extends to consultancy work, where he contributed to the establishment of Root Trainer and Modern Nurseries for institutions like the Institute of Wood Science & Technology, Bangalore, the Kerala Forest Department, Trivandrum, and the Arid Forest Research Institute, Jodhpur. Beyond his professional endeavours, Dr. Pantola has actively participated in numerous training programs, seminars, and conferences, showcasing his commitment to continuous learning. His publications on various crops and technologies for farmers reflect his dedication to knowledge dissemination in the field of agriculture. Overall, Dr. Purushotam Pantola stands as a dynamic and accomplished professional, contributing significantly to the upliftment of rural areas and sustainable agriculture in the Himalayan region. He has more than fifty news for training programme in different News Paper and has published fourth nightly newspaper named Agrocoop Audhyaniky. Additionaly, he has printed pamphlets in different crops/technologies for farmers/SHGs on Vermi Composting, NADEP, Polytunnel/Polyhouse technology, Low Cost Polyhouse, B.D. Heap, EM Techniques, Cow Pet Pit (CPP), Aonla Cultivation, Ginger Cultivation, Scientific Cultivation of Tomato/Jack Fruit/ Pea/ Potato/ Cabbage/ Cauliflower/Straw berry, IPM/IPNM in vegetables crop.
