Dr. Neelam Basera is an educator and social researcher devoted to the field of education, research, training and extension. She is adept at providing social support to people, writing academic documents, teaching complex material, data analysis and organizational management. Prior to joining GEHU, she was a Senior Research Fellow in Farmer FIRST Project of ICAR and has previously worked as a Teaching Personnel at the prestigious, G.B. Pant University of Agriculture and Technology, Pantnagar, India. With a Minor in Social Sciences, she was engaged as a Consultant in an EHR based project in joint collaboration with University of North Carolina, Chapel Hill, USA. During her doctorate, she was a recipient of Junior Research Fellowship/Senior Research Fellowship in Adult Education/ Education Continuing/Andragogy/Non- Formal Education from University Grant Commission.
Dr. Basera has qualified both UGC NET as well as ICAR NET for Teaching Assistantship/Lecturership. To expand her domain, she has opted for certificate courses on ‘Gender in Agriculture’ from World Bank Group, Skill enhancement certificate course in ‘Data Analytics’ from Maharaja Agrasen Institute of Management Studies, New Delhi and Short term course on ‘Medical Nutrition Therapy’ from BCAS, University of Delhi, New Delhi. Her research publications include more than 38 peer-reviewed papers in national and international journals, edited books, and indexed conference proceedings to her credit. She has delivered numerous oral and poster presentations, invited talks and has participated in over six international and 23 national trainings, workshop, conferences, etc. till date. She has founded the Agricultural Society of School of Agriculture, GEHU in 2022 and is actively involved in coordinating activities for student development, including weekly lecture series ‘Skill Up Saturday’, and Radio show ‘Krishi Aur Vigyan’. She was also the Chief Editor of Agri-Newsletter & GEHU Newsletter. Presently, she is coordinating the development of GEHU website and is responsible for managing social media platforms of Graphic Era Hill University.
